Her age was given as age 65 on 29 Oct 1908 and she was a resident of 107 1/2 Kosciusko [sp?] Avenue, Brooklyn, Kings, NY, which is interesting, as that is the address that Harry gave as his residence in 1871. After the death of George Michell (aft 1843), Susan (Pape) Michell m. (2) 1849, NY, Frederick L. Haynes christened 18 June 1826 Southwark Chapel Long Lane-Wesleyan, Bermondsey, Surrey, England. • There are entries in the NY Directory for 1888-89 and 1889-90 for both Harry and his business:

Harry lived in a household of women. His two unmarried sister-in-laws [Lucy B. Carpenter, age 58 in Nov 1908 and Annie E. Carpenter, age 60 in Nov 1908] had apparently lived with him and Phoebe their entire married life and his two daughters were also unmarried and living at home. Harry lived in Brooklyn, Kings County, NY from the time of his discharge in 1865 to 1907.

  • Along with his application, Harry supplied a copy of the wedding certificate:
